My skin gets so dry in the winter. Any lotion suggestions?
Sam: Mine does as soon as I turn the heat on! Body lotion does not work for me and lasts about an hour before my skin becomes dry again. What I have found to work is a thick body butter like this one or putting on an after shower body oil like this in the morning and at night.
Karissa: Same!! I love this cream (although not my favorite smell) it works so well! I also love this oil, and a little bit goes a long way- I apply it to my face at night (I use a cotton pad to apply it so it's not too heavy) and if I'm really dry I will apply it all over my body! I just purchased this lotion- I'll let you know what I think of it :)
The weather is getting cold and yucky...any indoor/outdoor date night activities you can suggest?
Sam: One of my favorite things to do in the winter is try out a new restaurant with friends! Zach and I love going out to eat with people and there is no shortage of great new restaurant popping up in downtown Columbus. We also LOVED Top Golf and thought it was just the best experience. While a little expensive, it is a great activity for any weather because you have the feeling of being outside, but staying warm on couches and under heat lamps.
Karissa: I agree with Sam- Top Golf was seriously awesome, we will definitely go back! I also think a date to the botanical gardens would be amazing- it's warm there and almost like a tropical getaway! But, honestly we are serious homebodies in the winter time and just love ordering in and catching up on shows.
What's a favorite cozy winter recipe?
Sam: Even though the weather is cold, I love cooking seasonally this time of year. Zach and I will be having a lot of deer meat, squashes and seasonal greens like brussels sprouts. I love this Pasta with Butternut Squash recipe from Skinnytaste and don't knock squash until you try it! I cannot recommend her new One and Done cookbook enough! If you like to cook a healthy recipe and dirty only one pot/dish you have to buy it!
Karissa: I'm not sure why but I've been really into soups this season. I just made this minestrone soup and this stuffed pepper soup and both were soooo good and will be made again. Next, I want to try this French onion noodle soup!
Where do you each want to travel to next?
Karissa: I have a feeling we won't be doing much traveling coming up. I'm trying to convince Brad to escape the cold for a long weekend in February or March (to Florida or somewhere relatively close). If we had endless time and no budget I'd love to go to Italy or Greece next.
Sam: In a world with endless vacation and money we would be going to Finland or Australia next, but they are both very expensive destinations with a lot of travel time! We are planning on going to Hawaii in the spring which is going to be amazing! If we did another trip next year I would love to go to Colorado! I would love to ski in Vail or go in the summer and hike and camp!
