What is your go to smoothie recipe?

Sam: I like to try and stick to the Fab Four approach when making a smoothie and the one I like has blueberries, almond butter, almond milk, chai seeds, protein powder, and a bit of spinach.

Karissa: I love Zest smoothies, but spending $10 on a smoothie everyday is out of question-- so I recreated one of my favorite Zest smoothies-- banana, strawberries, chia seed, almond-cashew milk, PB2 powdered peanut butter, chia seeds, and vanilla protein powder. Sometimes I'll add frozen berries!

Did you buy anything from the Nordstrom sale?

Karissa: I did not! I do not have a Nordstrom credit card. If I do buy anything I have my eye on these Zella leggings (I got them last year and practically live in them!) also love this free people cardigan, this madewell plaid top, and these mules!

Sam: Yes! We are going to make a whole post on refining your style and investing in classic pieces, but I used that same thought process when buying on the sale. It's easy to get caught up in all the bloggers posting $26 BP cardigans when they are originally $60 and buy a ton of things. But those are not the best quality and tend to be really trendy. I instead used the sale to invest in a few of my most worn pieces. A great pair of skinny jeans without holes, a statement blazer that I will wear a ton of times for work and nights out, and this free people pullover that I have been eying for a year and it never went on sale! The blazers I tried on were amazing quality but I'm thinking of returning them because I'm not in love with the double breasted buttons.

Karissa, what is a Pimms cup? I saw you talk about it in your story?

Pimms was really big in London, but I didn't get a chance to try it over there- so I became obsessed with trying it. Pimms is a gin-based liqueur, I mix it with ginger ale or sparkling lemonade (or the new Canada Dry ginger ale lemonade) and add fruit like strawberries, oranges, and cucumbers. I do 2-1 ratio of ginger ale to Pimms!

Favorite environmentally friendly items?

Sam: The biggest thing that I do is use these reusable bags at the grocery. I also like that I can fit a weeks worth of groceries in 3 bags instead of 29 plastic bags. I need to start using produce bags like these that I saw Nocrumbsleft had. I love these Stasher looka-like reusable plastic baggies. We use these for snacks, or putting a used block of cheese or half an onion in the fridge. Our plastic baggie usage has been reduced by half. Some everyday tips I try to follow are: buy local (shop farmers market and local butchers), buy produce in season, and shop local or shops that are environmentally friendly like Madewell. Drinking out of a reusable water bottle like this doesn't hurt either!

Karissa: fun fact: I was president of environmental club in high school lol yep, total nerd. I love a good reusable water bottle like this one - its great because you can use it for water or coffee! Did you know if you bring your own cup to Starbucks they'll give you like 10 cents off?! Also, these makeup brushes are my favorite and also environmentally friendly!

Do either of you use highlighter (the make up kind not for paper 😂)

Karissa: I just started to but it really makes a difference. I actually bought this one for my nieces unicorn birthday party and then started using it on myself! I need a different color for everyday though!

Sam: I do everyday! This stick highlighter is my absolute favorite and under $7.
