refining our style
We feel like every woman hones into their style in their late 20's, early 30s. We are both in our late- 20's (eek) and had a major shift this year in buying clothes. Rather than just buying what is trending, or shopping for cheap clothing at Target or H&M we make sure each piece identifies with our stye and has a relatively low cost per wear.
To do this, you need to establish your style by asking yourself, what are the items in your closet you are constantly reaching for. We call this our uniform. So in the summer for Sam that means jeans shorts and tshirts/tanks tucked in and for Karissa this may look more like a casual summer dress and a classic pair of sandals.
To build your ideal closet, invest in great quality versions of your 'uniform.' Paying $100 is not bad for a blazer if it means you'll have it for 5 years and and it to work once a week and then out on weekends. Great quality fabrics make all the difference in cost per wear. Steaming items after each wash and fading and pilling are never fun.
Perfect example below of us in our favorite basics, where we just added a different jacket or accessories. Once you identify what your favorite items are, invest in some quality items and then keep those as you base and make all your outfits around it!
