buying glasses online
I absolutely love having a different pair of glasses for every day of the week! The truth is, I have about 25 pairs! I always have people coming up to me asking if I got new glasses, so I figured I would share with you all today how all 25 pairs of my glasses total cost less than a single pair from the eye doctor...and they still have my prescription! I get almost all of my glasses on EyeBuyDirect.
You don't see me wearing my glasses a lot in pictures because I usually either take them off to prevent the picture glare or I have my contacts in. I wear contacts when I go out on the weekends, but during the week I wear glasses all day and since my far away vision is bad I have another pair like this from EyeBuyDirect that filters out blue light but with no prescription. I have been buying my glasses online for the past 5 years and love it! Not to say I don't go to the eye doctor, because I still do about every 2 years to get my prescription checked. I just ask them when I leave for my prescription and make them write it down. Once you have that, you are all set to order online.
Most of my glasses are from EyebuyDirect but I do have two pairs from Warby Parker (the two bottom right pairs). Warby parker sends you home with 5 free test pairs to see if you like the frames on your face but once you choose a pair then run about $100 each. EyebuyDirect always has 50% off or BOGO Free so I usually end up paying about $15/pair total including having my prescription added. The quality is great! I told my eye doctor and they were so shocked they took my glasses into the back thinking there was no way they could be actual prescription glasses for that price but they were!
So how to order....
Once you have your prescription written out, you'll need your pupillary distance which you can measure via this online calculator and by uploading a picture with a credit card held under your nose. It basically measures the distance between your pupils so the lens can be shaped accordingly. Then I like to go onto the website and sort by size. I have a narrow face so I sort by Small. See below
Then I like to just find a color and shape that I like! You can see from above many glasses start at $6 and then you'll have $6.95 to add your prescription and another $5.95 for shipping. If you don't like the way the glasses fit when you get them, you can return for a full refund! I also have prescription sunglasses too. The ones below are my favorite!
These run about $45. And to add your prescription will cost more but I love having prescription sunglasses! If you aren't sure on your size or what style you like, you can always order and then return if they don't fit!
