10 things in 10 years.
Holy smokes, I can't believe it's actually been 10 years since I graduated high school... Nothing like those double digits to make you feel old. And, while I don't look all that different, I feel slightly more mature. If I could do it all over again, I'm not sure I would-- life now is good, and making mistakes along the way helped make me who I am today. I did however came up with a list of 10 things that I wish I could have told little (little by age not size... I'm basically the same size) Karissa 10 years ago....
1. Don't compare yourself to others- everyone has a different story and everything may not be as good as it seems
2. It's okay to make mistakes- nobody is perfect and mistakes help you learn and grow as a person.
3. Work smarter not harder--- this is (still) my daily mantra. Weather its cleaning a little every day so you don't have to spend an entire Sunday scrubbing my house or using a cart to move something
4. Not everyone has success at the same time, but if you feel like something isn't working out, it's okay to make a change
5. It's just a bad day, not a bad life
6. It's all about who you know- (sometimes) Make good connections along the way and they can end up making a huge difference, and remember first impressions matter (this will be hard since you have a chronic resting b*tch face)
7. Learn proper make-up application (like under-eye concealer, and using minimal eyeliner), it'll make you feel better and if you feel good you can conquer the world...right!?
8. Nobody will ask you your college GPA, get good grades but making time for play is just as important!!!
9. Don't drink too much without eating a decent meal- you'll regret that the next day... or that day
10. Listen to mom- I swear my mom was right about so many things. Like, the tattoo on my foot (not my best decision, and she knew I'd regret it) and telling me that I looked silly in red sweatpants (WHY DID I EVEN OWN RED SWEATPANTS!!!)
What do you wish you could have told your younger self?
