new goals

So, I'm one of those people that never makes New Years resolutions because I always forget about them and I try and think of each day as a new start and not wait for the new year. However over the past couple of weeks I have made some goals for myself (small goals) that I thought I'd share.

one // drink more water

Since I've been drinking about 80oz a day, I've felt so much better. I find it easier to drink more when I have a cup with a straw like this one, if the bottle takes forever to open and I can't just sip it, I won't drink up!

two // new socks

This might seem like a "dumb" goal, but nothing makes me happier than a fresh pair of socks - it really changes the whole shoe for me. I want to get rid of those awful socks I've somehow held on to for a long time and invest in more quality socks.

three // become bookworm

Sam and I are now in a book club! I've felt so good after reading, and it makes me feel more accomplished than binge watching a show on Netflix. I joined good reads (haven't set it up completely but once I do I can share my info!) and set the goal to read 25 books in 2018. This is pretty crazy for me, but I definitely am going to try!

four // spend less

I have quite the shopping addiction, but I want to start spending less, especially on things I don't need. I think the best way to do this is to stay out of Target (gets me every time). I also try and stop and think about something before purchasing- if I go and try on a sweater and want it, I try and take a couple days- if I still want it then I'll probably go back for it, but if I've forgotten all about it then it was probably a waste of money. Investing in classic "non trendy" items that will last season after season will also be helpful long term for spending less!

five // increase cleanliness - decrease clutter

If I am being completely honest, I'm not the cleanest person on the planet (Fitz doesn't make it easy either). Before people come over I go full on crazy lady to make our home "perfect". (have you seen this video? - this is me). Anyways, I want to get rid of a lot of things we don't need and try and clean little by little versus doing it all at once.. also need to find a solution for all the piles that Bradley always makes (his idea of cleaning).
