Columbus Date Night Ideas

We had a lot of requests for a post on date night suggestions in the Columbus, OH area and we were thrilled to put this together! There are so many great restaurant options downtown-- and honestly sometimes our favorite date nights are just getting dressed up and heading out to eat! Lately, we have been mixing up our typical date night with a few new and fun activities.

German Village

Barcelona, downtown, has an amazing selection of tapas. We tried combinations of food that we have never imagined together, but our favorite was the avocado hummus. We would highly recommend this place, but it is fairly pricey so maybe just as an appetizer and drinks stop.

Elevator & a Show at the Palace Theater

One of our favorite comedians, Sebastian Manascalco finally came to Columbus so we booked tickets months in advance to see him. He's an Italian comedian and you can find his comedy sketches on iTunes shows if you want to check him out! We wanted to check out a new restaurant close to the Palace Theater so we tried out Elevator for the first time.

The food was seriously so good! Sam had the short rib mac and cheese and Karissa the crab cakes.

When we go for a night on the town we like to amp up what we wear a little bit! Heeled booties and a jacket or new sweater are our favorite go to's.

Karissa: Cardigan (sold out- similar here) // Bodysuit (old- similar here) // Jeans // Booties

We decided waiting in the long line for the bar was necessary and thank goodness we did because look at these amazingly large cups of wine!

Scents & Succulents

One of the things we both love to try out are all the workshops that Columbus events like Studio 614 put on! We have tried the painting classes like paint your pet, paint a pallet and recently Sam tried a scents and succulents workshop at the Candle Bar in Grandview, OH. You got to small all the candles on the wall and pick out 3 scented oils to combine to make your candle.

While you candle set, we got to pick out a variety of succulents and build our own pot while learning about how to actually keep it alive. They even had free wine!

Axe Throwing

Zach and Sam recently had a Groupon for Axe Throwing and we had no idea what to expect. They decided to turn up in flannel, and everyone else did to! The place is just a wooden hut almost built into an indoor sports complex in the north side of Columbus. The whole experience was just so much fun and the staff immediately had you pick a lumberjack name upon arrival.

They said on the weekends every station is full! They had us playing games like horse and double elimination since with the axe board numbered you can keep score! It really isn't that hard and everyone in our group hit the board several times.

Alcohol available for purchase which made things really fun! Our friend won the the end of the night competition and got to take home a wooden axe board.

Check out that bullseye!

There is so much to do in Columbus, let us know if you want to see more recommendations in the future!
