What fall trends will be popular this year?
We think that we will be seeing more of raw hem jeans, mules, and silk camis under moto jackets and chunky cardigans. We'll see a lot of velvet, dark burgundies and dark lips! Some fall inspiration pics we are loving are here and here.
With the holidays right around the corner, what's at the top of your wishlist?
Sam: Oh boy, this is a dangerous question to ask. My wishlist changes weekly but currently I am interested in these raw hem jeans, this ripped jean jacket, and these boots. How cute is this velvet purse? I just ordered a knock off of this one so we'll see if it ever arrives. I'm also craving some cognac loafers like these.
Karissa: My wishlist changes all the time which drives Bradley crazy. I would love some classics like a pair of Bean Boots or these Ray Ban sunglasses! I also have my eye on these tassel loafers and this Kate Spade watch!
Do you decorate your house for fall?
Karissa: In the past I haven't gotten too crazy for fall - but I'm thinking about amping it up this year! We usually put mums and pumpkins outside, but I would like to add a fall wreath! Also inside I'm hoping to get some subtle items that will help my home feel like fall - like this and this.
Sam: I feel like as a first year homeowner and being on a corner lot that I have to go all out on holiday decorating. For fall we plan on doing some hay stacks with pumpkins and gourds in little vignettes outside with pumpkins spilling down our front porch steps. Even though Zach thinks we will get them all smashed in the street by youths! Inside I always have this fall candle burning and white pumpkins inside the house. I love doing mostly white pumpkins inside and the little ones last until Thanksgiving.
What are your favorite fall trends?
Sam: For this fall I am loving looks like a cashmere sweater under a plaid blazer like this. A classic block heel bootie with a flared raw hem jean (like this and this) will be something I am looking forward to wearing this fall. Probably with a chunky sweater like this!
Karissa: In the fall I love wearing comfy things like a chunky sweater that's layered or even a layered flannel! I also love booties with a pair a ripped demin!
Are you"basic?" (Blanket scarves, pumpkin spice lattes, leggings and bean boots)
Karissa: I'm so basic. I am definitely not a pro on blanket scarves (yet)- and surprisingly don't own bean boots (yet-- seriously want to invest for cold weather dog walks). But I am frequently seen with Starbucks (I usually only get a PSL as a treat once every couple weeks) and I am leggings obsessed!
Sam: Haha I love this question! I would say I'm half basic because I never go to Starbucks and don't know how to rock a blanket scarf. I for sure love dressing like the typical Ohio Fall girl with leggings, bean boots and I think this year we'll be seeing a lot of chunky pullovers like this. I don't think there is any way you can live in Ohio and not love fall! Everywhere you go they have pumpkin flavored food, its football season, and the weather is a crisp 60 degrees.
Bonus: Favorite tailgate/football viewing party recipe?
Sam: My favorite dip to bring to a party is this Chorizo Jalepeno Dip by Chrissy Teigen. It is heavily requested! Watch out when you are charring the jalepenos because the spicy-ness consumes the air in your house and you will start coughing! Recipe here but you should probably just buy the cookbook here because there are so many great recipes.
Karissa: Brad and I LOVE buffalo chicken dip. I have been making it for years and usually follow this recipe- but usually add a little extra Franks Red Hot. Tip: I usually make it with cheddar cheese instead of blue cheese and typically make it on the stove top!
