sam's wedding vibes

I wanted to share a bit of what we have in mind for our upcoming fall wedding. Hopefully it all comes together as I am envisioning! Zach proposed back in December and we have been frantically planning our wedding for this October since! 10 months is a quick turnaround but we have always dreamed of getting married in the fall.

Is it possible to just have wedding vibes and not a theme? When I started to plan my wedding I had trouble wrapping my head around the idea that my wedding had to have a set theme or two specific colors. I did not have a specific color in mind that I had to have in the wedding so I ended up throwing that all out the window and saying 'industrial chic with greenery'. Can that be my theme? We'll call it my vibe.

My bouquet (inspired by the above photo) will be filled with eucalyptus, air plants, succulents and the giant protea flower. We will have an arch covered with all greenery and protea like the picture on the top right. I was really excited when our florist asked if I wanted to really do an exotic vibe and get crazy with flowers- how could I turn that down!?

I have 5 bridesmaids who will be wearing long dark navy dresses. The dresses will look beautiful and dark next to our greenery for our chilly October wedding.

Our venue (below) has 3 large rooms. We we utilize one for the ceremony & reception that is pictured below and the others for the bar & food. Our reception will only be lit with the gorgeous hanging lanterns like the ones you see below. We plan to have a lot of greenery throughout the room. Each table will have a lantern and greenery as their centerpiece.

We feel in love with our venue the moment we saw it. The entire venue is lined with live plants, wooden benches and comfy white couches. The space is large so our guests will have plenty of room to wander around during the cocktail hour. We will open the glass garage door (weather permitting) during the reception for a cigar bar!

Our large 25 seat head table will seat our wedding party plus their dates. The table is a large vintage wooden farmhouse table that we will line with eucalyptus and gorgeous mercury glass votives.

Guests will find their seat by locating their handwritten marble coaster similar to the one pictured below. The marble coasters will be laying on a large table covered in live moss. To make the marble coaster place cards, I ordered backsplash tile sheets off amazon (here) and then we'll just do our own calligraphy with bronze sharpie to write each wedding guests' name and table number on the marble. Then they can take them home as a coaster!

My wedding dress inspiration was all over the place but my common themes were a naturally full skirt and a decorative bodice - either halter neck or a v-neck like the below. My shopping experience was nothing like Say Yes to the Dress but I did find my dream dress - I just won't show it to you yet! All the below dresses have pockets and so does mine!

My mom is going to hand draw this pine tree as our guest log. Zach proposed at a Christmas tree farm and I love the non-traditional vibe of having guests sign all the branches. As a plus we'll have something to hang in our house forever!

I knew I wanted to incorporate mixed metals and marble as much as possible into the wedding but I was not sure how to continue to the marble vibe until I saw the marbling cake trend on Pinterest. Our simple cake will be buttercream with a marble design and our retired racing greyhound will get to be a part of the wedding by appearing in our cake topper (from Etsy)

Gold charger plates and navy blue accents throughout the wedding will complete our industrial chic look!
