Charleston Trip
A week in Charleston, South Carolina was the perfect way to start the summer! We hopped in the car for a quick (ha) 10 hour drive to our rental house in Isle of Palms - just 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. We were so excited to take in all the sites Charleston had to offer.
We loved shopping up and down King Street, there were so many cute shops including Skinny Dip Charleston (pictured below).. I mean look at this cute photo backdrop!

We started the first day of the trip walking through Charleston, hitting all of the major sites; Rainbow Row, the Old Exchange Building, the Pineapple Fountain, and the Charleston City Market. After the best fish tacos of the trip, at Oyster House, we were ready to head home and relax in the pool of our rental house.
On the second day of our trip, we decided to adventure to the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens.The gardens were absolutely breathtaking, with beautiful bridges, open fields, and plants. The plantation also has a petting zoo, filled with lots of fun animals (Loved the peacocks). After we explored the gardens, we ventured over to the swamp area, but our time there was cut short due to a rain storm. The photo below is right before we were drenched to the bone. The gardens and plantation were absolutely beautiful.
Both of our tops are from Old Navy, unfortunately after the rain storm they discolored our white shorts. (Note: the tops were not washed beforehand)
Out to dinner for Brad's birthday at Hometeam BBQ in Sullivan's Island. We quickly realized that all of the best restaurants were over on Sullivan's Island, which is just south of Isle of Palms. We also loved the tacos and burgers at Poe's Tavern across the street from Hometeam BBQ!

Karissa's dress old but similar here / Brad's Abercrombie button up sold out but similar here The beach on Isle of Palms was great, lined with beautiful homes and not too crowded. The water was warm and the sun was hot. The perfect place for a lazy afternoon.
On the last night in Charleston, we found a great rooftop bar for happy hour, then each couple headed out on their own for "date night" before heading to the haunted Old City Jail in Charleston for a tour. It was the perfect ending to a great week in Charleston/Isle of Palms.
