What do you deal to cope with the time change in the fall? It gets so depressing to have it dark at 5pm.
Sam: Fun fact, it was originally invented by Benjamin Franklin to save on candles burning all the time. Now the time changes helps with children that walk to school so they don't get hit by cars. I personally hate the time change this time of year because I will have to walk Oslo in the dark. Tips for making it better would be to capitalize on the morning light that you didn't have before. I'm going to really push for working out in the morning that way after work I can light some candles and cook a great dinner! I may also start knitting scarves again this winter.
Karissa: lol at Sam's fun fact. Every year the time change kills me- I work afternoon shift and my office has a ton of windows but by 6:00 it's pitch black outside so it makes me feel like I'm ready for bed. I try and start my day a little earlier in the morning so when I get home I can just cozy up. This year I'm thinking I may need to get a little light box to help with the time change nonsense.
What time of the year do you start Christmas Shopping? Online or in stores?
Karissa: I usually don't start until after Thanksgiving. I hate hiding gifts so I honestly wait as long as possible. I like to buy things in stores because I like to see it/feel it in person lol. I do online shop on Black Friday though, not a huge fan of those insane crowds!
Sam: I usually start in October and almost exclusively online! This year I'll do a little more shopping at Costco because I saw the same items I bought in last year at Costco for hundreds less.
What do you usually do for trick or treat? Pass out candy bars or apples?
Sam: This is our first year ever at our house because we were on our honeymoon last year! I plan on buying lots of Reese cups and all the chocolate so I can eat it when the kids don't show up. Since I grew up with my brother having severe food allergies I get the teal pumpkin trend and the need for kids to have non food treats. I may get one this year!
Karissa: Definitely not apples, I actually grabbed the assorted chocolate candy bag from Costco last night (Snickers, Reese, Kit-Kat, M&Ms, Twix, it's a good one). I may head to Target to grab some non candy items since Brad is convinced one of our real pumpkins is teal. We usually get a good amount of trick-or-treaters and I LOVE seeing all the kiddos dressed up!
